The use of PDA’s for collecting exploration field data is commonplace.  However data collection requi-rements are not the same for each company. 
In developing Nomad, Maxwell’s professionals have provided exploration users with two options; predefined data capture templates or create your own data capture profile.  Nomad can host multiple data capture profiles for different activities.  There is also a GPS data capture function.  Nomad can be used as a standalone application, or in an integrated end to end data management environment where captured data can be uploaded to a remote database via a satellite link or VPN connection. 

Users of Nomad can include geologists, field assistants and any support staff, with the application used in the following areas:

• Surface sampling: soil, stream, rockchip sampling data.
• Drilling: Diamond, RC and RAB.
• Geotechnical data collection.
• Drill rig QC and consumable data capture and monitoring.
• Sample allocation.
